View Full Version : 3 different spellings.. which should i go with?

im adopting a male basenji tomorrow, by the name of rawley. i dont like the spelling, so i was thinking..

rawley (hmph)
raleigh
rahli

what do you think? which should i go with? what different kinds of spellings could i use?

I'd go with the standard Raleigh but Rahli is neat too and a little different.

I like all 3 but I'm something of a traditionalist so I lean towards Raleigh.

he's a basenji, he has to be unique! Where are you adopting him from?

If you go with the unusual spelling, you will be forever correcting the spelling with every vet or anyone else who might have need to write down his name. I like simple easy names, I probably would go with Rally!

Congratulations! Welcome to Raleigh, or Rahli, or...whatever you decide to name him (new life, new name)

Basenjis are unique...I think the names should be too :) But either way...I love the name!

That reminds me of an episode of "JAG", when the Admiral gets a new German Shephard and decides to name it Dammit. :D

I also vote for Rahli, it sound like name of Egyptian farao :D.

I like Rahli too...looks more exotic. Raleigh brings to mind a brand of cigarettes. :)

They get kicked up to the top because a spambot posts in them. The spam gets deleted by our moderators, often before we ever see them (our moderators rock, they are really on the ball), but the thread stays at the top. :)
