My beautiful girl Ginger is great with people, but dogs are another story. Big or small she growls at them all! She is about 6 years old, so she isn't a pup anymore. Does anyone have advice on steps I can take to make her more comfortable. I am also looking for an older dog socialization/training course in Seattle...

Have you considered a behaviorist? Instead of a class situation? You would get one on one attention with your girl... then try a beginning Obedience class

I think this is the correct trainer...they will give you a free eval of your rescue dog...you just have to bring it in to them.
They will eval and then tell you what they think you need to do.
I have taken my last 3 to the Academy of Canine Behavior in Bothell. They do a great job in training you to train your dogs, starting with puppies at 16 weeks, which is pretty much the pups just having a great time running around and playing. The sessions are about 7 weeks and I recommend taking all 3 levels. Call them and ask for a brochure.
425-486-9567 and they will answer any questions you might have.

Ask them about working with basenjis and how much they know of this breed.
Let us know what you think.

Try to find an animal behaviorist near you...they can definitely help. Check out this website.
