your collars are beautiful....i have a question, seeing you like to make things, have you ever seen or made those little gourds with seeds in them that make a rattling sound that the basenjis in africa wear around their necks? have you ever seen any for sale anywhere? Wouldnt i dearly love to have some for my two Bs. :)

Or... if there is a 7/8" or 1" wide ribbon you find that you like better, we can go that route also. :) Finished product is still 1" wide.
Will be getting this in soon: http://i79.photobucket.com/albums/j132/bdawg1005/greenribbon.jpg
And have some of these available... Please inquire if interested! :)

How about Martingale collars? I would love to buy one of those if you can make them. :D

I bought the supplies to make martingales- but they are a little more complicated... Haven't actually started production on them. Will do some testing/perfecting and post when those are available... Do you have a preference for ribbon? The other thing is that I typically think of martingales (or I should say "I prefer" them) to be 2" or at least an 1 and a half wide. All my supplies right now are for 1" wide collars. Thoughts?

BDawg,
Everything that you have created so far with costumes and collars all look great, I am sure that the martingales will look great when you create them. I need a girly one for Zahra, Chase just ate through the last one I bought this summer. :(

I myself also love martingale for Basenjis, I just bought one for my B, Sahara for Christmas. It was handmade by Majestic collars, and it is beautiful. I ordered one made from a Russian material, and it was 1&1/2 inches wide. The martingales need to be wide, up to 2 inches in my opinion.

This is a hunting bell from Africa, it was given to my son as a gift. I don't know where you may find one.....that may be difficult if not expensive.

I have some lovely 1 inch martigales. I don't think they need to be any wider than a normal buckle collar unless you are letting your dogs pull into them like a sled dog. My coursing collars need to wide because they dogs will pull hard to get to the "bunny".

A d-ring belt is for humans-- something like this:
