Tiggy will be attending his first show on Sunday. I am so nervous, lol. Any pointers for a first time show? I have work a lot on his stacking and staying and also show and have my friends that he meets examine him so he is used to be touched by other people. I also have him used to standing on a table.

Do you know if they are faulted for giving kisses? Tiggy likes to kiss everyone he meets, lol.

I found with mine that the judges tend to be forgiving of puppies for a lot of things. They don't forgive everything, but they understand puppies.

You need to understand that it is possible that all of your prepwork will come down to nothing that first time out -- OR he may blow you away with how awesome he is!

Thanks everyone for the encouragement it's a big all breed two day show, so we are going down the Friday before (basenjis show on Sunday) to get settled into the hotel, then Saturday we'll go check out the show grounds.

Tiggy has been to a busy show before and did just fine with all the excitement so I'm not worried about that part, and he is very treat driven so I'll stay focused right on the bait and not care what else is going on around him.

And don't worry if he is a silly boy ...... first time they usually are... ggg... just relax and make it fun for both of you.... I have never worried with a young dog at shows if they act silly..... regardless of what the judges thinks...

Uku when to his first show last sunday and he was perfect, behaving far, far better than 4 of the 8 b's showing that day. Got really nice comments from the judge! Had to be best puppy as he was the only basenji pup :D
But he had too be good as he big brother Timbo went BOB and Eos BOS :rolleyes:
