Other online forums put up stickies in sections where the same questions are repeatedly asked.
I think this would be helpful for new people to the site to save them from posting or searching. It will also save regular people from repeating the same stuff over & over again, correct or incorrect.
Over the last several months there has been people that need help with growling & aggression issues. They all ask the same questions again & again, some in different situations.
Maybe a sticky by some of the experienced breeders here could do a write up of how to deal with it. You could lock the sticky to keep it pure info. Or links to sites that can help. a lot of this is basic training information- Basenji 101
I think stickies on these issues would be most helpful-
Crate training
Aggression & growling
House breaking
Overall basenji training (how it is different from standard training)
Introducing new dogs or other pet compatibility
I believe these are the most common questions asked.
I also know different people have different opinions on training, but some issues have common ground that will help owners
just an idea.

The other thing it helps is from owners like myself possibly saying the wrong thing.
I think the above issues really need to be addressed by professional Basenji breeders & professional trainers HERE and not pet owners or what someone said on TV or a book.
The threads are for discussion, but can be misinformation, which can only worsen a situation.
That way people can try the sticky information first, then ask questions.

Yes, I think sticky's for certain subjects would help.

I don't know how a sticky works? Do you point someone with a question answered by a sticky to that sticky? Or do you just hope that they read the stickies before asking the question? Or both?

Here is a sticky at a subaru car site- people can post on the subject and the thread never moves- labeled sticky
It's the first thread about tires-

The stickies at this site are locked at people can't reply to them except moderators- that is what I think is needed here so people like myself don't take thread off coarse about Hyenas. Or post pictures that don't relate to the subject

You see them labeled STICKIES and the icon to the left has a lock on it

I don't know how to do it, but should be in the sites template features
Stickies always stay at the top of a forum.

Undoubtably you will get people who dont see them or read them, but then you reply to the person "read the sticky above at the top".
Or even link the sticky to the person like this-

Sticky Threads will be the first threads you see when you enter a certain topic
Here's the boxer site I use under the "Behavior and Training" Topic, you see the sticky's first Link (http://epettalk.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=11)
I think this is a wonderful idea. Admin can we set this up?

Your stickies are way better than the ones in the forums I posted, very nice layout.
Great ideas everyone, I guess we are getting kind of big and its time to do some thread cleaning and organization. You would usually point someone to a sticky if they are asking a question which was already answered. It is perfectly normal to do that as long as its done in a courteous way.
Please PM me your sticky suggestions in the following format and I will stick them in appropriate threads.
1. Main Thread Title (These are existing topics)
2. Sticky Title
3. Initial Sticky Content Outline
For the Sticky Content Outline you will need to do some digging around the forums to find the appropriate content and answers.
Thank you
