We want to be honest and upfront with everyone at Basenji Forums and share some things that have been going on behind the scenes.
It has been reported to us that certain member(s) have been private messaging other forum members regarding the way Basenji Forums operates as well as abusing our PM system with messages which violate our forum rules.
Let us remind everyone that we do not allow members to gang up on each other by making them feel unwelcome which is clearly stated in the rules and guidelines of our forum.
This forum was created as an informational tool and nothing more than that. Members have expressed on numerous occasions that they feel as though they have to meet a certain standard in order to join our community.
This forum is for everyone and anyone who would like to know more about this wonderful breed. We understand that everyone has a difference of opinion on breeding standards etc. We have our own opinions as well but we do not make it a point to make people feel unwelcome just because there dog did not meet our own personal requirements.
We find it upsetting that members have turned this forum into a whirlwind of drama by making false allegations about Basenji Forums, its members and even Alex and I using the PM and email system. It has even gotten to the point that certain members have made malicious threats to Basenji Forums stating that they are going to make it a point to sabotage this forum and its members. They have slowly been using PM system to spread negativity and steer people away from Basenji Forums.
As a result of all this negativity and drama started by certain popular members, we decided to disable private messaging and any private communications on this forum and remove those members from our community for violating Basenji Forums rules. Some others involved are still under investigation and we will decide shortly whether to let them stay here or not.
Our forum rules apply to everyone so if someone thinks that they are above the rules simply because they are more popular/active/veteran/whataver, we must remind them that everyone is equal, and if they can't follow the rules, they will need to find somewhere else to spend their time and forget about Basenji Forums community.
Out of respect for other forum members we do not care to discuss this any further publicly. If you would like to discuss this (privately) do not hesitate to contact us at admin@basenjiforums.com.
We apologize for the inconvenience that this has had on everyone but at this time, we are currently investigating the members which were removed from the forum. We respect everyone privacy and are only investigating members who have violated our forum rules. Once we figure out what adjustments we need to make to our system in order to prevent this from happening again, we will consider re-enabling private messaging.
