I wish we could talk to one another privately again, why did this stop. I would especially like to chat with those that have the probable affected fanconi dogs.
Hi youngandtired,
Sorry, but our forum policy does not allow Private Messaging anymore due to past abuse.
We have a whole topic that we created called Fanconi Dogs where you can chat communicate with others in an open format. I think the whole community can benefit from the open knowledge about this horrible disease.

There are a lot of YaHoo group list and you could even start one for people with "probable" affected fanconi dogs and/or already showing Fanconi.
We understand that some members do not feel completely comfortable discussing what they are going through with their Fanconi affected dogs in a public forum.
To address that, in addition to our open Fanconi topic, we just created a Private Fanconi Support Group here on our forum. It is not open to public and and requires membership and a password.
To get access you would need to have a dog affected by Fanconi or showing signs of Fanconi. Please email admin@basenjiforums.com for access information.

That doesn't help the people that have DNA test "affected" that are not showing signs yet for Fanconi. That is the position that Youngandtried" is in at this point. There already is a wonderful list for Fanconi affected.
Or are you saying that DNA tested Fanconi affected, but not showing signs are able to access?
Pat,
To clarify. Yes, we are saying for all affected Fanconi dogs including DNA tested with positive results. If you have anymore questions please email us privately at admin@basenjiforums.com.
Thank you,
Alex

Please forgive my newby ignorance, but why would this have to be private?
The threads I have read about this have increased my knowledge 100 fold on Fanconi. As a matter of fact, I was under the impression if your b was symptom free between years 2 and 6, they were out of the woods. I know, I know, stupid of me to assume what I read and was told 10 years ago, was still the norm. (or perhaps I was mislead in the beginning?)
I'm determined to have both dogs tested now.
Hi Snorky998,
Some members do not feel completely comfortable discussing what they are going through with their Fanconi affected dogs in a public forum. It is very emotional for them and they would rather be discussing these matters in private with others who are going through the same thing.
We respect that, but also would like to make Fanconi information available to everyone. That is why we also created a public topic called Fanconi Info (http://www.basenjiforums.com/forumdisplay.php?f=59) where anyone is welcome to participate.
There is plenty of information there already and we hope more will be contributed by everyone here.
