Sculptures are approx 5 inches tall and are made of wool (usually Merino or Corriedale, but I have also used alpaca, llama, or silk fibers depending on what I feel is needed to create the best look) using a barbed needle. Needle felting is a time consuming process and each sculpture takes 9-12 hours to complete. I am happy to match markings at no added expense. This is a wonderful keepsake for those beloved dogs who have passed. I have also felted fur from the individual pet into the sculpture, but this would be difficult with basenji fur. Since each woolie is hand made, I’m open to input from you about what you want.
Prices* for a standing basenji start at $100; sitting pups start at $80. Prices will vary depending on if you’d like a larger size, etc. (Shipping will be $5 minimum for parcel post) 50% deposit require to start and if you’re not happy, I will refund (less shipping) or make it right. Each woolie is created on a wire frame and should be considered a collector’s item, not a toy. If you have any questions, please email kdmbasenji (at) hotmail (dot) com please put “basenji” or “woolie” in the subject.
Thanks for looking!
*prices good through Jan 2009.
