View Full Version : Lola models sweaters to benefit BRAT!

I decided to list my custom made sweaters on eBay, and Lola is modeling two of her own fleece sweaters to help sell them.
As a seller option, you can choose to donate part of the final selling price of your item to your favorite charity. On a whim, and not expecting to see it, I searched for BRAT, and it is an option! The minimum donation per item is $5, so every sweater I sell, I will donate $5 to BRAT!
Here's a link to my auction, although for some reason the pictures aren't showing up! http://cgi.ebay.com/Custom-made-fleece-dog-sweater-coat-Any-color-Size_W0QQitemZ110310881726QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_De faultDomain_0?hash=item110310881726&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1205|66%3A2|65%3A12|39%3A1|240%3A13 18
I'm so excited that I could choose BRAT!!! If anybody still wants a sweater, now you can get a Christmas present for your favorite basenji, and help needy basenjis at the same time!

If I can get Booger & Lola to cooperate at the same time, I'll get a picture of all three of us. Booger also has a blue argyle sweater/scarf set & I made myself a matching blue argyle scarf, so the 3 of us match! Ridiculous, but cute!

Okay, I just got my custom coats in!! Let's be honest people, Carrie pretty much ROCKS!! The coats fit perfectly!! I took a few pics of Lexi and Miles in their fabulous new pieces!! :) THANK YOU!!
As soon as I put them on, they were instantly snuggly and wanted to fall asleep during our photo shoot! (this never happens!)

"Okay, Lexi now you look at me. Miles! Quit falling sleep on the job!"

"Okay Lexi, put your head down."

I love the fur about the neck of these b's.
Well done!

I'm glad they fit so well!!! The fabric is beautiful!!!
Nice work on Lexi and Miles' coats. They look like ritzy "Park Avenue" basenjis.
I may have to order a custom coat myself. I don't think Nemo likes his Fido Fleece to much, it's tight fitting around the legs...these look nice and comfortable with lots of room to move.

The great things about these coats is I can make anything the size you want. You can make a shorter back, like Lexi & Miles have, or a long one (the ones I make for mine go all the way to the base of the tail). Doesn't matter if your dog is tall, short, fat or skinny, its 100% custom. And I make a pattern for your dog with your measurements, so if you decide you want an additional coat later on, it would only take me as long as it takes me to get to the store to pick up fabric to make the coat. And of course, I can work with whatever fleece you want. I can also replicate the Fido Fleece with the velcro down the back if you like. Just let me know... I have a ton of fun making these things, and Lola and Booger already have about 6 between the two of them now!

I have so much fabric left, I really need to come over and sew and like I said Lexi and Miles' coats were inspiring! Riley has taken to grabbing a particular green plaid fleece out of my fabric bag and running wild through the house with my yelling behind him. I figure that making him wear it would be sufficient revenge. I didn't know which dog it was for when I bought it but Riley helped me decide.

We can always turn extra fabric into scarves!

Hi Andrew!
I am not able to look at your ebay site at work, but if you could let me know the cost of your sweaters I would appreciate it.
We have been looking and looking for one that fits Shelby, but nothing is quite right.
Thank you!!

Those coats with the faux fur are very classy! My poor pups were so cold at the park tonight I may have to order 3 from you! What are the measurements you need?

Oops, when I was going to place an order the auction had already expired. Are you going to put it up again or should we just email you directly? I can place an order later this week when I get back from a work trip.

Just wanted to say that the temps really dropped here yesterday. We were in the low 60s and it went into the 40s with nasty freezing winds. The dogs were shivering IN the house!!! It's like they were begging me to put their coats on!! So I did-- they've been all cozy and lazy ever since!! They really LOVE them!

Oh my - those fur trimmed coats are too much! Those are too very glamorous basenjis!
Yes, could you list the measurements you need?

Just want to jump in and say the coats Carrie made for my 2 brats not only fit perfectly, but were accepted unconditionally by my 2, 4 legged kids.
Katie loves to snooze in hers during the day. Tyler (my grumpy old man), naps throughout the day in his coat but refuses to go to bed with his coat on. (He also doesn't like to pee with his coat on either)

I am not currently planning on relisting the auction on eBay as they waited until 2 days after my auction ended to try to help me fix the picture situation. I'm a bit peeved...
But aside from that, sweaters are $30 a piece, $25 if you choose a fabric I already have. I have a lot of camo as well as red with black paw prints.
Here are the measurements I need:
1) Circumference of their neck at its widest point
2) The measurement of the chest from the base of the neck to the top of the leg
3) Circumference of the arm at the top where it meets the body
4) The measurement from the back of the arm to the tuck up
5) Circumference of the chest right behind the front legs
6) The circumference of the tuck up, where you want the belly to end
7) The length of the back
8) The width of their chest from shoulder to shoulder
Just e-mail me your measurements, the fabric you would like (you can also choose from the fleece available at joanns.com or han****fabrics.com), and your mailing address to carriesquires@gmail.com
I take paypal or check.
