I wrote about our other dogs / pets we had as well as Sakari in my introduction.
Sakari was part JRT and part Basenji, and she is how we came to fall in love with the Basenji breed. She died in our yard apparently of a heart attack in 2008 at the age of 5 1/2 years old.
I sometimes will call Bisa 'Sakari', but also know that in time that habit will fade.But just because it will doesn't mean I don't miss her - or any pet we have had.
I am grateful we rescued Sakari [found her on Petfinder]. She opened a whole new world to us in us in knowing we always will want a Basenji as a furry member of our family.
