If anyone is looking for a car crate i have one free to a good home - got a new car today and old cage doesnt fit.
Cage was a Trystorme double cage with central divider, originally made to fit a Renault Megane Tourer - have had it altered by a local blacksmith for my last few car changes - was last used in a Toyota Rav-4. Not looking for any money for it - if anyone wants it they can just make a donation to Basenji or Dobermann Rescue.
cheers

I could do with a new car crate. Mine have bent all the bars. I'll take measurements.

well they certainly wouldnt be able to bend the bars on this one! Only thing is last time i got it altered i didnt get the internal divider altered - i basically use it as just the one big crate. I still have the divider but it would need a bit taken off it - if you have a local blacksmith he would probably do it for about ?15.
Also, the Trystorme cages come with locks which require a different key for each lock - this used to drive me crazy trying to find the correct tiny key to open a door. So i got the locks taken off and replaced with simple drop latches like you get on trailers - still very secure, just not lockable.
If you want i will measure it up tonight and let you know the dimensions.
cheers

That would be great Scot. Can you take a piccy too?? Next time I've got my car at a show I'll show you how they've bent the bars. It's mostly Trouper who hates being crated. One day he even managed to colapse the crate and we found him lying on top of the colpased crate in the boot of the car!!
ps My car is a Skoda Roomster but I'll measure up the crate I currently have to compare with yours.

have a look on www.trystorme.co.uk
These are galvanised welded cages - not collapsable, very secure, sturdy and safe.
If you are driving up the M74 at the weekend you could pop in to see it - my house is only 10 minutes from the Abington junction.

Thanks Scott but we'll have the caravan with us so won't be so easy to stop. The website looks good. I'll measure up my car when I get home and let you know.

just measured up crate - it is 39" wide, 30" high, and 29" deep. All measurements taken at widest/longest points, as it narrows towards the top.
