Just wanted to wish everyone good luck at the club show this weekend. I didn't enter as John was due to home this weekend but the army being the army changed his dates for him coming home so could have gone:rolleyes: But as it turns out Belle is in season and would be right in the middle of it so wouldn't have shown her anyway. I'm sure it will be a lovely show so hope you all enjoy your day out:D

Oh well hope you have a nice day Scott:D

me too! Nothing worse than travelling 300 miles away, to show under a judge who only lives 30 miles from home, and winning hee haw. did that earlier this year lol.

We will be there, not expecting to win though. I believe there are 24 in the parade of champions. Looking forward to it, I just hope the weather is kind to us as it isn't a very big venue.

I don't know how you do it Scott (getting up early) I hope you have a good trip down!

travelling isnt too bad - its the accomodation im worrying about more this time - i booked it when i was unsure of my job situation, so went for a real cheapy hotel (under forty quid for the night) - mind you will probably be too tired to see much of it after the show, dinner and a wee dram i will be sleeping like a log lol.

Don't worry Scott you will either have been celebrating or drowning your sorrows so you won't even notice what the hotel is like:D:p

Thanks Basi. We are going to Darlington Show on Friday and just carrying on down the road afterwards for the Club Show on Saturday. I'm taking my mum with me as she really wanted to go to the memorial show. I don't think we will have seen so many basenjis in one place at one time! :D

I'm sure your mum will love it:D
I think the last time I was around so many B's was when my mum judged the houndshow in 01 with an entry of about 80 I think it was, really nice to see so many in one go.

Scott, you won't be the only one travelling all that way! We're not even staying overnight! Looking forward to it, not much chance of any wins, but it'll be good to see everyone and of course, see all those fab Basenjis.

I am looking forward the Parade of champions. Let's hope it outside! We did turn up at this show two years ago but it was indoors and space was very tight so we did not stop long.

2am in the morning! Poor Scott. We will set of at about 6.00am which is a little more civilised. Make it a large dram and I am sure you will not even notice the surroundings!:D

Good luck to all at Darlington and the club show, see you all at Brampton.

Steve.

Hi Jess,

I think its paper copies only with the BCoGB. We (BOBA) have gone digital this year, I wish the others would. Let me know if you are desperate for a schedule and I will try to remember to bring it to work tomorrow and scan it to a PDF file.

If it's just some key detail you need I can put them in a post.

Steve.

2am in the morning!
Steve.

Im my own worst enemy though - it will take us about 6.5 hrs to drive down(plus stops), but i am NEVER late for anything - always at least an hour early - so i suppose we could have an extra hour in bed - aint going to happen though!

Will be in a celebratory mood anyway - dont know if you remember i mentioned we were being made redundant - well a london broker we work closely with heard of what was happening, and has asked me and a colleague to open up their first Scottish office for them! So have been busy packing up files today - open up the new office on Monday. Tilly can rest easily now.

I am exactly the same and end up stringing out journeys with frequent stops so we do not get there ridiculously early.

Yes I do remember you mentioning your job situation and we were keeping our fingers crossed for you. Congratulations regarding the new job!!! We are so pleased for you,:D it must be a huge weight lifted. I am a Local Government Officer so I expect I will be facing the same in the future. The Government are talking about slashing and burning regarding public finances! It would be terrible to be forced to stop showing because of redundancy.

See Saturday.

Steve.

Glad you are ok on the job front must have been a scary.

I'm dreading the job hunting thing when I move back to Perth:( I have been offered the chance of working where I did before I moved away but will be in a lower position than I was, so will be working under people that I use to be above, don't think i' can do it.

yes we are mad, but as Brian drives for a living, he's quite able to cope for a special show. Wouldn't want to do it very often though.

Well done to all the other winners as well. Tilly won 1st Limit bitch and 1st Not Bred By Exh - so we have won enough food for a few months.

It was a great day i thought, the weather stayed just perfect - and i enjoyed the parade of champions - it was good to see some of the dogs i have only seen in pedigrees. Does anyone know how the elderly gentlemen who took ill (think it was Monty Bowers) was - did he get taken to hospital?

It was thought to be either a diabetic coma or possibly a stroke. It was very hot and Bunty was trying to persuade him to go into the shade but he kept insisting he was all right but he later just became unresponsive, it must have been scary for her.

Glad to hear he is going to be ok, i noticed a lot of shouting and commotion but was not too sure what was going on...

But yeah, we had a nice day. Maya didnt put a foot wrong all day (despite the lovely football players and skaters all around - helpful!!) and she did really well in her two classes. It was a lovely, friendly atmosphere and we got chatting to several new people which is always nice!! I do feel terrible when we have to ask people who they are though lol!!

Anyway, we now have a bit of a break from the champ shows until the next club show, so good luck everyone who's at Driffield (i think thats the next one??), we shall look out for you in the results!!
