Hi there , I have been looking to buy my first basenji for well over a year now and was hoping this could help . I am very eager to finally get my basenji so Travelling within the uk is not a problem ,
Thanks.
Hi there!
Sorry, I just saw your message.
Fortunately for me I'm keeping my dog. After much discussion and agreement we've decided to keep him. He's much calmer and easier to live with now he's 7m.
Only in a negative sense. There are none available. All breeders have lists spilling over to next year. But email me privately and I will send you a list of Breed Club Secretaries. If you get in quick, you will be my 184th enquiry since lockdown and I haven't bred for 10 years or more.
No - you are too late already, 2 more in this morning. . . so you might make it to 186th on my list.
Glad things are settling down for you. Now is a great time to get on breeders puppy lists. Go to the Basenji Club and contact breeders in states close enough for traveling to. If you're interested in a bit older, be sure to ask if they have any or know of another breeder who may have gotten a puppy back that didn't work out. Good luck in your search.
Please do plenty of research before making a decision to have a Basenji.
Where are you in the UK? - if near to me you are welcome to visit my Basenjis and talk Basenji talk. I'm no longer breeding but I think it's important to visit Basenji homes before making decisions. As Benkura says there don't seem to be any female pups available at present. The plus of that is that you've plenty of time to see as many Basenjis as you can. Most breeders are like me and would be pleased for you to visit with their Basenjis.
Check out this video of 9 week old Jaroufa's Glamazon at Rift Valley is quite the agility queen. She went to her new home today thanks to my good friend/ driver and combat tracking mentor, Frank Merritt. We will miss the dark brindle girl but she is going to one of the top racing homes in the country and that is what this litter was all about.
