Looking for puppy or younger basenji near Chicago north suburbs

@emilia 19 puppies from 2 litters ! You have to be joking - or the Moms have set a new record for litter size !

Email me privately - address in websites on signature block, but I warn you - Covid has brought Basenji would-be puppy owners out in droves and the few breeders who are having a litter this winter have full waiting lists.

Two breeders I know have started on a list for the winter of 2021, inviting prospective owners to meet and become acquainted with Basenjis.

I have emails from several people who have already put themselves onto the Rescue waiting list. . . in case a Basenji turns out to be too much once (if) restrictions are lifted.

Anyway - we are once more in full Lockdown - and I am just praying they don't close the carparks to the (porous) woods again like they did last time, leaving loads of us scrabbling for a parking spot on the main road close to one of the holes into the forest.

A lot of people get 2 pups at once, but different litters, opposite sex. I personally prefer one at a time so they bond more with humans than each other. Getting another the next season gives time to get the first settled. Of course, then you have another round of house breaking etc. A lot depends on your own experience with the breed. Its true when they say you learn something new everyday, well at least you should !!!

I have a cat and have added two Basenjis since she and I came together. She is in charge and I encourage her to "train" the dogs. Our male (Guppy a BRAT rescue) has given her a little more trouble than most dogs (I guess she gives him a pass because he's cute-I wish she wouldn't though!). We have our moments (Guppy is a teenager and living up to the name Mr. Grumpy Pants) but we seem to be getting along just fine.

I think they're trying to look legit! Knowing that most "ethical" breeders ask a good amount for our dogs (course mind you we have a lot of money stuck into our dogs prior to the "sale" price). And the fact that we're not into dogs to make money.
