Looking for puppy or younger basenji near Chicago north suburbs

While they are good with some people with allergies, not so with everyone. Because they do shed and they do have dander, they can and do set off reactions with some people.

You may also want to look at the basenji rescue group out of Indianapolis- they may have some dogs looking for forever homes.

Or you can go to www.allofcraigs.com, and put in basenji in the search field to start your own nationwide search. Keep in mind that many people found cute puppies 4 or 5 months ago and without researching the breed, bought the puppy in the window. At this point, these families are exhausted and frustrated and sick of their bathroom trash being scattered endlessly around the home! 🙂 Perhaps they didn't read their contract, or they bought their pup from a back yard breeder or pet store and didn't have a contract. Those pups are looking for a home, and if you have the patience to help these pups, they will love you forever!

(P.S. I found my Lola and Sophie on Craig's List, as did my sister with her boy from St Louis. ):)

Let me know if you want to discuss them. I was a breeder and raised 31 pups in the last 3 years and sold to great homes and still hear from all my buyers.

That is true, a pure for profit breeder is not going to spend money on health testing that is going to cut into their bottom line. They will do as little testing as they can do and still sell puppies.

Educating as many people as possible to demand health testing for both parents is the best thing that we can do for the breed. There will always be some who want a puppy "right now" and won't care but the more people we can educate the smaller the market for puppy mill dogs because really most people do want to do the right thing and want a healthy puppy that will be a long lived companion.

Hello Everyone, first of all let me start by I'm truly sorry for not responding back to you sooner ~ I have no computer @ home and the only one I have full access to is the one @ work and work has been hectic lately… any how Yes this is our first litter, both Dam and Sire have all their medical records up to date as far as their vaccinations abd keeping them heart worm free, their both on heartguard and frontline the dam although did get her hips check for hip displasma before we even thought of breeding, The vet said our dam was perfect and should have no problems at the time of birth. as far as the line of basenji's I'm currently looking into that I beleive they are from different lines unless your asking if their related if thats the question the the answer is NO. (the dams face looks more like fox and the sire face is not as pointy)... last but not least the Sire does have show Champion in his immediate line. please write any additional questions.

bottom line, I just want to find good homes for the puppies...
