I just started using iGive.com, if you shop through them certain stores give a percentage of your purchase to your designated charity which in my case in Basenji Rescue and Transport.

I have seen photos of 'glyphs with small curly tailed dogs as well as larger loopy-tailed dogs, some in the same scene. One can only assume the smaller curly tailed ones are the basenjis!

This is a forum for the discussion of Basenjis, not a dueling society. If you feel attacked, please report it to the admin and then ignore the poster. Remember, however much you were provoked, if you attack a poster then you are just as guilty of breaking the rules.

Telling other people what to do and how to post is rude, derails the conversation even further and often ignites flame wars. Please just report the user to the admin and move on.

Thanks for your consideration.

We are currently in the process of looking to adopt a basenji. We have done all the research on the breed and learned about their traits and querks. We have come to the decision that a basenji is the right dog for us. However I suffer from allergies and want to make sure that I don't have an allergic reaction to our new family member.

I have done alot of research and have read many artictles which say that basenji's are hypoallergetic. This is great, however no dog is truly allergy free. We have gone as far as visiting a breeder to meet their dogs and had a minor reaction. However I do not know if this was due to the fury little guy or the cigarette smoke in the residence (which I am also allergic to).

Long story short, we are looking for a Saskatchewan Basenji owner that would be willing to let us meet their basenji to determine if allergies will be an issue.

Please respond if you are a basenji owner in Saskatchewan or near by.

Wow, my last post was a mess.
What I meant to say was this type of site caters to the "fast food dog buying folks".
Having rescue folks and breeders who put their ad in to educate will help those who want to learn.
