I have MSN.com as my homepage, and on there was a msnbc picture show of animals. Well, on picture 5 there seems to be a Basenji riding with his owners on a bike, check it out. You never know where a B may show up, haha!!!!

Janneke, thanks for your comments. Your answers totally help me make sense of your situation, and what Tillo is doing. I would be the same as you - the human might want the dog to get their points, but is it the best for the dog? In your situation, I certainly agree with your train of thought. I am a big Tillo fan, so naturally want him to do as well as he can in any show, but I can see how his behaviour could lead to worse things down the road if he learns that he can growl and get no reprimand for it. You are doing the best thing.

Yes, we do, they do it on the greyhound race tracks 😃 My friend does it with his afghan, i'd love to have a go with Maya sometime!

I beleive a lot of our red/white basenjis do have black hair on their tails, I am told it indicates the possibility of producing tri colored offspring if bred properly. Commonly referred to as 'tri-factoring'

Yes, that is correct, breeding to a Tri colored or another color with the Tri Factor and you can get Tris.

There are now DNA tests available that can pinpoint what your dog might be genetically. Some companies can only do 30 or so breeds but most advertise well over 150.

Why should you care - well it is a way to know what sorts of things healthwise you should be on the lookout for as many breeds have unique health issues. I was at the vet last year and there was a puggle there with an eye issue - the owners shared what it was and it is common in beagles. They then went on to say that they had trouble with the other eye before and it was an issues specific (although not exclusive) to pugs. So much for hybrid vigor.
