We haven't met her yet since she lives soooo far away, but I've had many long phone conversations with the breeder, and seen pictures of the pup! I'm hoping to get some recent pictures soon and I'll post them for you guys to see.
Depending on her pedigree she may a cousin of my dogs and all of the Sherwood bred dogs on the Forums. Is Suddanly Bets On A Lady's Man her sire or grandsire? He is a half brother to my boy Nick.
Congratulations to both of you. We just got our pup three weeks ago. We are going through all of the expected mayhem, although it doesn't seem that bad. Perhaps he will be a problem when he is a teenager. Remember lots of walks and play time.
Hello & welcome from a fellow Canadian. I had a great conversation with Diana about 6-7 months ago. I'm sure that you will be getting a great pup. Congrats. Nice to have you here.
Congratulations on your puppy! Good job getting him out of that situation, 5 weeks is too young to leave the mother but I am glad you got him away from that bad breeder.
If I were you I would report that breeder…sounds like the animals she still has are in an abusive situation.
how long have you had him?
Biting can take months to curb! Its really a matter of consistency and patience, i know it is hard!! I would highly recommend finding a good behaviourist in your area to teach you the neccessary tools to get him to be a confident great dog
A couple thoughts to welcome baseni_fan to our pack:
Hold on… it's gonna be the wildest ride you have ever been on! Think of it like parenthood: you can read all the books and listen to all the sage advice... but nothing can really prepare for the real thing!
Older dogs bond fantastically.. our Rock was over 3 when he came to our home... and our lives were never the same. In a very short time, he became very loyal and bonded to our pack. Each dog is different. I truly think they choose us.
Enjoy the hunt! This is a fantastic breed... but be prepared. They can also be the most infuriating. grin I think that is half the fun. I love having a dog that makes me think.
Best of luck to you and your future pup (be it old or young)! Welcome to the crazy (dog)house!
