We were able to get ahold of the breeder. she came down for photos she said she needed for getting him registered, and she also did the fanconi swab test. I have not been able to get aholdof her again to find out The results yet though.

Its wonderful about the DNA testing…but what about the fanconi testing? Sorry to sound like a broken record, but I had a fanconi b and I loved and lost that dog.

The breeder did say she had testing for fanconi done. But we are still waiting to see who the sire is.... so.
he is 9 weeks old. . .
His dam is not a registered Basenji. And unless DNA was done, I am not so sure that the sire of the litter is known either.
We are just waiting on the DNA results to come back.
No he is a straight B. Both of his younger sisters are the normal tan colour with some white.

Since this is an Avuvi litter there will be more than the usual testing. As I told Charlie, the price is low bc it wasnt planned and it is African. The puppies should be UKC if I have guessed right about the father but I cant guarantee that. The price covers the testing. You wont find many breeders paying for hip OFA testing and CERF for pets. Some only Fanconi test parents.
It will all be in the contract.
As with all responsible breeders I provide support for questions and since these are Avuvis they may not be like domestics in some ways.
However, the help of a group is always good.
Over time I have found Basenji Companions to be the support group of choice.
